Presentation Parish 2006-07 Annual report

 Stewardship Prayer 2007

Lord God, inspire in all of us—members of your church

to recognize your call and be willing to respond to that call.

Help us to always remember that we are your hands and feet in our world.

May we be good witnesses of Christ in the midst of our

everyday lives— in our families, in our professions, in our social interaction, in our parish,

with our friends and with the strangers that we meet along the way.

Give us the grace to be good stewards of the many gifts you have given us.

May we, in gratitude, live our lives in service to you.

May your love radiate from our lives.

Amen

Stewardship Committee:

The Stewardship Committee supports stewardship as a way of life by fostering an awareness within our faith community of God’s call to share our gifts.  Members support the Annual Stewardship Renewal of time, talent and treasure and host for the annual Ministry Celebration.  Members call and welcome new parishioners, thank those involved in ministry and facilitate praying the stewardship prayer each month.

Debt Committee:

This committee was formed in January of 2005 in response to the need to reduce the parish debt.  Members create awareness of debt reduction efforts by educating parishioners about debt payments, debt balance, envelope contributions to debt reduction and interest savings.  In addition, the committee hosts two events each year to foster parish community and support debt reduction efforts, the Spaghetti Dinner & Variety Show in June and the Fall Quarter Raffle in October.

Parish Community Committee:

Members on this committee organize and implement parish gatherings which foster a sense of parish community. The committee hosts Divine Donuts the third Sunday of each month after all weekend Masses; the Presentation Playgroup which provides an opportunity for parents with preschool aged children an opportunity to gather; and Divine Diners which offers parishioners the opportunity to socialize once a month in small group settings either in a parishioners home or at a restaurant.

Welcoming Committee:

Members of this committee host a potluck dinner each Spring and Fall to welcome new parishioners and acquaint them with parish ministries. The dinners also provide an opportunity to meet the Pastor, parish staff and fellow new parishioners.

“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another       as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” - 1 Pt 4:10

Embracing God’s Call To Stewardship…

Over the past several years, members of Our Lady of the Presentation faith community have deepened their awareness of God’s call to live a life of stewardship. Everything that we are and possess is a gift from God. As an    expression of our gratitude, we nurture those gifts and return them with an increase to our faith community and the world we live in.

Sharing Our Gifts Of Time And Talent…

No one can deny that most of us live with many demands on our time. As we deepen our awareness of God’s call to a life of stewardship, it will become easier for us to discern where we are called to share our gifts of time and talent. Each member of our parish can spend time in prayer for the conversion of our faith community and for our faithful response to stewardship. As we discern the talents we have to share, one may be gifted and feel called to minister to the sick and homebound, another may feel a call to mentor our youth and yet another may feel called to serve on a parish committee. There are many opportunities to share your gifts of time and talent at Our Lady of the Presentation. As you prayerfully open your heart and mind, you will hear God’s call to share your gifts and be given the grace to respond “yes.”

Sharing Our Gift Of Treasure...

Sharing our financial resources in a secular culture which teaches that wealth and possessions are symbols of personal success can be a challenge. When we commit to a biblical tithe of 10%, we live with a greater awareness that all we own is a gift from God. A guideline for financial giving is to offer 5% of our gross income to our faith community, 4% to special church collections and other charities, and 1% in support of our Diocese.

Embracing God’s call to stewardship will strengthen and nurture our personal relationship with God, help us to maintain balance in our lives, deepen our compassion for others and build up our faith community and the world in which we live.

Our Lady of the Presentation 2007 Pledge Card

“So if we truly want to live in God’s new world, we must first learn God’s will and then do it. For it is a fact: This ‘world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever,’ to enjoy eternally the blessings to be showered down by our loving Creator.” 1 John 2:17
