Meetings:
The School Advisory Board generally meets the second Monday of the each
month in the Etue room at 6:30 p.m. Time is set aside at the beginning
of each meeting for an Open Forum. Parents and parishioners are invited
to attend the Open Forum, which is an opportunity for individuals to
request discussion on special topics. It works best if you contact the
President in advance if you plan to attend the Open Forum about a
specific issue.
Members:
The members of the school advisory board include school parents,
parishioners, the principal and pastor. The school parent population
nominates and elects 6 school-parent members and at least one member
from the parish. Elections occur in the spring. The member‘s role is to
represent the school parents and students and to serve as a
communication link.
Advisory Board Role:
The role of the school advisory board is to provide advice and to affirm
and support the policies established by the principal, pastor, and
diocese.
Areas of responsibility include:

Strategic Planning
·
Policy formulation and adaptation
·
Finance advisement
·
Development (e.g., marketing)
·
Annual evaluation of advisory board effectiveness
·
Evaluation of the principal during the comprehensive evaluation
·
Representation on search committee for new principal
Mission:
The
School Advisory Board will, in conjunction with School Administration
and the Pastor, create and maintain a school environment in which
children can find purposes for their lives that are part of the
purposes of God, and an environment in which parents are appropriately
involved in the education of their children, staff knows they are
supported and appreciated, the building and grounds are attractive,
inviting and well cared for, and current technology is available to
every teacher and student in the classroom.
